Keller Williams – “Keys”

KW.Keys.coverKeller Williams is pleased to announce he has once again partnered with the Rex Foundation and taken to his piano to create KEYS: A Collection of Grateful Dead Covers on Piano to Benefit the REX Foundation.

Playing ten not-so-traditional covers of Grateful Dead classics such as “Touch of Grey,” and “Wharf Rat,” listeners will be exposed to Williams’ piano man side. Much like Williams’ previous Dead-themed release, Grateful Grass, purchasers will have the opportunity to revisit some of the Dead’s material in a unique way. KEYS will be available for digital purchase exclusively on iTunes beginning February 12, 2013 and 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the Rex Foundation.

GO HERE to purchase KEYS on iTunes now, and enjoy a preview of “Terrapin Station” via the SoundCloud player below!

Read below for Williams’ thoughts on this special project. Whether you’re a Keller fan, a Dead fan or both…this album has something for everyone.

“It’s no secret I have an unhealthy fascination with the Grateful Dead. Whenever I sit down at the piano it seems the only thing that comes out are Jerry ballads.  Even though these songs are not all Jerry ballads, I have sort of made them that way.  The lyrics, although I’ve been singing them most of my adult life, are not 100% perfect. Like any other music I play, I’ve taken liberties.  All of the proceeds from the sale of these songs goes to support the Rex Foundation, which was started by the Grateful Dead, in the 80’s, so you can feel good about that!

– Gratefully yours, Keller”
